Customizing the placement of X–Y plot axes

Click the Axes tab to customize the placement of the X- and Y-axes of an X–Y plot. This section describes the Placement options, which control the location of the axes themselves; to customize the location of the axis labels, see Customizing the X–Y plot axis labels

  1. Locate the Placement options.

    Select OptionsXY OptionsAxis; or click , which is located with the X–Y plotting tools in the Visualization module toolbox. Click the Axes tab in the dialog box that appears. The Placement options for the axes appear at the top of the Axes page.

  2. From the X Axis or Y Axis fields, highlight one or more axes.

  3. From the Placement options at the top of the Axes page, select one of the following:

    Min Edge

    Abaqus/CAE places an axis on the minimum edge of the X–Y plot only. For X-axes, the minimum edge is the bottom of the viewport; for Y-axes, the minimum edge is the left side of the viewport.

    Max Edge

    Abaqus/CAE places an axis on the maximum edge of the X–Y plot only. For X-axes, the maximum edge is the top of the viewport; for Y-axes, the maximum edge is the right side of the viewport.

    Min/Max Edge

    Abaqus/CAE places the selected axis on both the maximum and minimum edges of the X–Y plot. For X-axes, Abaqus/CAE places the selected axis on the top and bottom of the viewport; for Y-axes, Abaqus/CAE the selected axis on the left and right sides of the viewport.

    Center

    Abaqus/CAE places the axis in the center of the X–Y plot.

  4. Click Dismiss to close the Axis Options dialog box.
