Defining a retained nodal DOFs boundary condition

You can create a retained nodal degrees of freedom (DOFs) boundary condition to specify the degrees of freedom that are to be retained as external to a substructure. This boundary condition can be created only in a Substructure generation step.

  1. Display the retained nodal DOFs boundary condition editor using one of the following methods:

  2. Toggle on any of the following options:

    U1

    Nodal freedom in the 1-direction.

    U2

    Nodal freedom in the 2-direction.

    U3

    Nodal freedom in the 3-direction.

    UR1

    Rotation about the 1-axis.

    UR2

    Rotation about the 2-axis.

    UR3

    Rotation about the 3-axis.

  3. Click OK to save your data and to exit the editor.
