Do one of the following to choose the files to upgrade:
Choose Files, and enter the names of the files to upgrade.
Choose Directory, and enter the name of the directory to upgrade. Abaqus/CAE upgrades all of the scripts in the directory and any subdirectories.
Toggle on Create backups to keep copies of the original scripts in their original directory.
Do one of the following to choose the type of the commands to upgrade:
Choose Kernel to upgrade only Abaqus Scripting Interface commands.
Choose GUI to upgrade only Abaqus GUI Toolkit commands.
Choose Both to upgrade both Abaqus Scripting Interface and Abaqus GUI Toolkit commands.
In most cases you should choose to upgrade both types of commands.
Enter the name of the log file. The file will contain a log of the upgrade commands that are issued along with a list of the changes to the script and any errors or warnings that are issued. Abaqus/CAE stores the log file in the current directory and displays its contents on the screen during the upgrade process.
Select the release of the original script and the release to which you would like to upgrade. If you are not sure when the script was created, you should choose the earliest release available. The default release for the original script is three releases before the current release.
Do one of the following to select the application that displays a preview of the updated script when you click Preview Changes:
Choose Use web browser to preview your changes in the default web browser.
Choose Use specified executable and enter the path to the executable file that will display the differences between the script and the upgraded script; for example, windiff.
From the buttons at the bottom of the dialog box, do the following:
Click Preview Changes to use the selected application to preview the changes to the script.
If the changes are acceptable, click Upgrade Scripts to perform the upgrade and to close the Upgrade Scripts dialog box.
