An overview of the MCF plug-in

The modal frequency response, such as the sound pressure or displacement, can be expressed as

P(x¯;Ω)=α=1Npα(x¯;Ω)=α=1Nϕα(x¯)qα(Ω).

The first plug-in uses a script to recover the fluid-structure coupled MCF (ϕαmqα for each mode α at a response point m for a range of frequencies) based on the mode shapes, ϕα, (from the frequency step) and the modal amplitudes, qα, (from the steady-state dynamic step with modal output requested) in the output database. The plug-in sums these partial pressures and compares them against the Abaqus total. In addition, the script creates a ranking criterion based on a sensitivity analysis.

The second plug-in uses a script that displays polar or vector plots or bar graphs that allow you to identify the most significant modes at each excitation frequency.
